The U12A boys played in the 1st Round of the Cambridge Schools FA Cup and performed brilliantly well. They started off the game having several efforts at goal which should have given the boys the lead. However, it wasn’t long after where R.Nurse netted his debut King’s Ely and U12A goal. The boys continued to put pressure on Cambourne and found a second goal near to half time thanks to S.Birkwood. The boys maintained their work rate and pressure on the opposition in the second half leading to goal 3 which was a well worked team goal, including 7 passes, followed by a D.Johnson thunderbolt finding the top left corner from 18 yards. A corner led Cambourne to find a goal of their own after some pinball within the box. R.Nurse found his second of the game 2 minutes till full time with a S.Birkwood assist. A brilliant match played with great sportsmanship and intensity. Kings Ely U12A make their way into the 2nd round of the competition. Well done boys.
